Volunteer Opportunities

The Fergus Scottish Festival is hosted by a not-for-profit organization comprised of dedicated volunteers who commit to present, promote and preserve Scottish Culture and Heritage in our community. Volunteers serve on the Board of Directors, as Members of the Festival, and as Heads of Committees during the planning stages of the Festival throughout the year and devote countless hours ensuring that a premiere event will take place. During the weeks leading up to the Festival, the Festival weekend and the days after, hundreds more join their ranks working on things such as sales, marketing material distribution, site construction and maintenance, event management and support, visitor support and tear down. The Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games would not be possible without the many dedicated volunteers who provide this essential assistance. This thriving relationship between the Festival and the community is a testimony to the people that founded the Festival 61 years ago and the community members that still take great pride in it today.

If you are interested in meeting a great bunch of people, the Fergus Scottish Festival is interested in you. We invite you to fill out the information sheet below or call the Festival Office at 519.787.0099. This will allow us to connect you with a volunteer position suited to your interests and skills. If you are already a Festival volunteer, please feel free to invite family and friends to become volunteers by having them provide their information.

Come be a part of one of the Top 50 Festivals in Ontario as proclaimed by Festival & Events Ontario for the 6th year running. The 62nd Fergus Scottish Festival will held on August 10-12, 2007 and is shaping up to be another amazing celebration.
