Scottish Heavy Events School Information Ever consider trying your hand at the Heavy Events? The Scottish Heavy Events School provides the opportunity for men and women of all sizes and ages to learn the skills required. Two days of training are followed by a opportunity to compete against your peers prior to the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games on Friday, August 7, 2009.
Dedicated to Excellence We are an organization with a passion for the sports of the ancient Scots.It is our intention to promote and practice these to the best of our abilities and to further help others who share a similar interest.We extend an invitation to all Highland athletes to join with us from all over the world in the celebration of these sports.We offer the camaraderie of sport and help in achieving the individual’s goals.In addition, we offer a fine base for communication and the interchange of ideas and contacts that make for a vibrant sporting career.
SCHOOL SESSIONS
We will be having a spring school session this year. It will run April 25 and 26th, 2009. You can use this as your spring tuneup.
There are two summer school sessions available in 2009. Two schools in the week prior to the Festival which is August 7,8,9 2009, for those who want to "tune up" their throwing prior to the Highland Games' season.
Session One: Monday August 3 and Tuesday August 4 Session Two: Wednesday August 5 and Thursday August 6 Amateur School competition all day Friday August 9, 2009 Location: Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex (Fergus),

The winner of the Friday school competition will be invited to participate in the amateur competition on Saturday and Sunday morning at our festival.
Athletic waivers will be completed on site prior to the beginning of the school.
A kilt is necessary for the Friday competition. You are responsible for your own accommodation.
