Tug Of War
Each weekend from June to October, a group of rugged competitors from across Canada and the USA travel to the many fairs and ethnic festivals such as the Highland Games to take their positions on a piece of manilla rope to do battle in one of the oldest competitive sports known to man.
Each team consists of eight active pullers, the end person being known as the anchor. Besides the pullers, each team has a coach who directs and encourages their club from the opposing side of the line.
Be sure to be on hand for all of the excitement with the Tug of War Championships which will take place on "Saturday, August 11 2007" at 10:00 am.
