Avenue of the Clans
at the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games
The Avenue of the Clans is a bustling area open Saturday and Sunday and is dedicated to Clan Societies.
Each year, over 50 Clan societies from across Canada and the United States arrive in Fergus armed with displays and histories of their Clans. Visitors are encouraged to stroll through the "avenue" of colourful cabanas filled with Clan members who are eager to share their histories and perhaps help you locate your family’s Clan.
Many Clan Societies hold their annual general meetings in conjunction with the Festival weekend. As well, many family reunions are planned to coincide with the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games weekend.
There are many activities that include the Clans and their members. There is the Rallying of the Clans and the Lightin' during the Tattoo on Friday. There is also a Parade of Clans during the Opening Ceremonies on Saturday.
