The Fergus Scottish Festival Welcomes Back Returning Scottish Author and Historian David R. Ross!
This year’s Featured Author is David R. Ross who appears as part of the Author Series presented by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and the Grand River Raceway.
David R. Ross is a Scottish author who has become famous for his superb books and his skill and knowledge as an historian. David released his first book in 1999 called On the Trail of William Wallace through Luath Press Ltd. To his great surprise, it climbed to number nine on the best seller chart on the first week on its release. His success has only increased from there. David has now released four additional books, each chronicling events, people, places and issues of great interest to both Scots and those with Scottish roots.
As a young child, David visited historical sites and read an immense number of books. As a young man, he used his first motorcycle to travel to the places he had read of and it was only a matter of time before he became fascinated with tracing the steps of the historical figures that had loved and fought for his Scotland. Now as a well-known author, he divides his time between his travels and writing and the other opportunities his success has provided, David has had numerous television appearances and opportunities to serve as historian for major projects and has spoken at locations around the world.
David R. Ross returns to the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games where he will be presenting lectures and holding book signings. His captivating accounts of Scotland incorporate past and present events and are made unique by the endless interesting facts that he has collected and retained over the years. David has a natural stage presence and loves to share his passion for the country of his birth and heritage, a passion which is contagious to all who read his works and hear him speak.
