Looking for a place to stay for the weekend?
Allow us to provide you with a list of accommodations in Fergus and the surrounding area. This list is not intended as an endorsement of any establishments but purely for the benefit of those wishing to attend the Festival. When you book your accommodation, remember to mention you saw the listing on the Fergus Scottish Festival website.
We strongly recommend that you book your accommodation as soon as possible as the rooms sell out quickly!
Festival Camping 2007
Camping with us provides you with the convenience of being on the Fergus Scottish Festival site, close to all the activities and events, ensuring that you don’t miss a thing. Arrive as early as Thursday, August 9 after 1pm and stay as late as Monday, August 13 at 12 noon.
Camping reservations for the 2007 Festival begin Monday, May 28, 2007 at 9am. You can reserve by phone (519.787.0099) with Visa or Master Card only or you can reserve in person at the Festival office at our new location at 398 St. Andrew St. W. Campsite confirmations will be sent to confirmed campers following the completion of registration. Please note that there is no preregistration and fax requests will not be taken -- you must reserve by telephone or in person.
Sites are priced at $125 for serviced sites and $100 for unserviced sites for the whole weekend regardless of the length of stay or the number of people camping. All campers must have and wear a valid wristband for each of the days that they are on our site. Please see the Ticket page for more information.
Campers can check-in as early as 3:00pm on Thursday, August 9, 2007, and stay as late as 12 noon on Monday, August 13, 2007. Campers must check-in by Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 12 noon. If you arrive after this time, you may find that your site has been rented to someone else. There will be no refund.
Every site receives one pass for a vehicle to access the camping area only. Only one vehicle per site will be allowed. No exceptions. Additional parking may be purchased for a nominal fee of $5.00 per vehicle.
Camp Site and Camping Services and Facilities
- All sites are approximately 20' x 40'. Tree area sites may vary in size.
- Water is available, though water hook-up is not guaranteed. We suggest that you bring a bucket or a long garden hose, up to a maximum length of 100 feet, for potential water hook-up.
- No dump station is available.
- Limited electricity is available for some sites. Hook-up requires a 100 foot, 15 amp maximum extension cord.
- Garbage and recycling is available on site.
- Shower and washroom facilities are available on site in the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex (Fergus), Thursday through Monday 6am to midnight. Showers and toilet facilities are also available in the camping area.
- Camping area flush toilets are available 24 hours per day.
- Bring a hammer if you are pitching a tent. The ground can be hard.
- The Festival does not supply picnic tables for individual camp sites.
Rules and Regulations
- Fires are permitted for the purpose of cooking only and must be moderate in size.
- Alcohol is permitted only on your camp site.
- As a courtesy to other campers, quiet time is 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Dogs and any other pets must remain on your camp site. Absolutely no pets on the Festival site excluding service dogs.
- While the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games has security on site throughout the weekend, neither the Fergus Scottish Festival nor the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex (Fergus)assume any responsibility for goods lost or stolen or for any damage to vehicles or equipment parked at this site.
Campers, please note that the local Kinsmen Club offers a delicious Pancake Breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning for $5 per person, $3 per child and $1 for extra drinks. Firewood and ice are available for purchase on-site.
Specific sites can be requested but are not guaranteed on a year-to-year basis. All campsites are on the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex (Fergus) grounds and campers are asked and required to respect and comply with the rules and regulations governing the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex (Fergus) and the Festival.
Pets are not allowed on the Festival site, excluding service dogs. Pets are permitted on the campsites only. For more information, please see the Festival's Pets Policy. Camping provides an opportunity for you and your family to enjoy the beautiful parks that can be found in Wellington County. And for those looking for the convenience of being close to the Festival Site, consider camping with us on-site.
Bed and Breakfasts
Fergus, Elora, Guelph and the surrounding area have numerous Bed and Breakfast locations and are hosted by welcoming homeowners who are delighted to have you visit.
Hotels and Motels
Hotel and motel establishments range from the historic, the luxurious and the economical, or a bit of everything.
The Festival has made arrangements for special weekend packages with some area hotels.
